CHRISTMAS CHEER APPEAL. The annual appeal for assistance for the women and children patients at Porirua hospital over the Christmas period will close to-morrow. Up to the present time a sum of £7 2s has been raised, and used in small amounts it will bring extras associated with the l'cstive season to a large number of patients who would otherwise pass unromembered.

A iinal appeal is made for small subscriptions, which may be left with the honorary local treasurer (Mrs. AV. D. Thomas) or at the "Chronicle" office. Previously acknowledged amounts total £G 5s and in addition the following donations have been received: Anonymous as, Mrs. J. K. Allen 2s Gd, Mrs. Duckworth 5s and organisers of a dance 4s'6d.
