IHAKARA HALL.

J MEETING OF RESIDENTS. A meeting of Ihakara residents was held in the Ihakara Hall last evening to discuss matters in connection with the running of the hall, Mr. S. A. Broadbelt presiding over an attendance of twenty-seven residents. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs A. C. McDonald and J. Brown (trustees) and Messrs J. and J. W. Rolston. The chairman, after reading the minutes of the last meeting of residents which was held in August, 1021, slated that the hall account to date showed a credit balance of £147 lis.

Several speakers pointed out that the hall was not large enough to meet the needs of the district, and after some discussion it was decided on the motion of Mr. J. Taylor, seconded by Mr. G. Armstrong "That the people of the district elect a committee of seven to manage the affairs of the hall."

It was further decided that a meeting of residents be held on Wednesday, July 20th, for the purpose of electing a committee.
