McMilmn, H. Koera, J. W. Kimmer, (treasurer) and J. Casey (secretary).

Defaulting Teams. Advice was- received from the referee (Mr. C. C. Wildsniilh) that Boston thirds had not travelled to Shannon last (Saturday, and that he had awarded the match to (Shannon by default. Mr. Carter explained that mo Foxton thirds assembled at the appointed time, hut when the bus arrived the driver said he would be unable to take them to Shannon. Endeavours had been made to obtain other transport, but as it was so late in the day this was not possible. Under the circumstances, it was decided, on the motion of Mr. Devonshire, seconded by Mr. Howell, that the game be replayed at the end of the season. Air. Childs advised that Wanderers juniors failed to travel to Shannon to fulfil their engagement last Saturday. On the motion of Air, Rimmer, it was decided that the club be ordered to pay 'tho costs incurred, which: amounted to 15s.

Protest Held Over. The Shannon seniors wrote asking that last Saturday’s game with Wan derers be replayed cm the ground that Heppolite, who played for Wanderers, had not obtained his clearance from the Porangahau Pootball Club. Mr. Kimmer said ho did not know whether a copy of the protest had been sent to Wanderers or not, but on Friday last a telegram asking for Heppolite’s clearance was sent to the Porangahau Club. A reply came back that 10s was required for the clearance, and he had personally forwarded that sum. Porangahau had forwarded Heppolite’s clearance ana it was now in the hands of the Wanderers’ secretary. Mr, Hannan pointed out that Heppolite had not obtained a clearance from Horowhenua when he went to play for Porangahau, and no clearance was necessary for him to come back to Horowhenua.

Mr. Gillespie remarked that in this case the Porangahau Club was at fault in playing Heppolite without a clearance from Horowhenua.

The meeting held the matter over until the clearance given by the Porangahau Club was produced by Wanderers. Third Grade, Competition. Wanderers, Athletic and Shannon advised that they were opposed to a third round for the third grade competition, while .Foxtp stated that they were in favour, of it. Mr. Casey moved that the third grade competition close at the end of the second round. This was seconded by Mr. Gillespie and carried.

No Referee for Game. It was mentioned that Otaki juniors travelled to Paekakariki last Saturday, but there was no referee in attendance and the match Avas not played. Mr. Childs informed the meeting that the referee appointed advised him on Friday evening that he Avould not be able to take the game. The speaker said he had been unable to obtain another referee, Mr. Roera asked lioav the Otaki team’s travelling expenses, amounting to £2 10s, Avere to Tie refunded. On the motion of Mr. Casey, seconded bv Air. Kimmer, it Avas decided to pay the Otaki Club’s travelling expenses, Mr. Devonshire then moveo that the match bo played later if it had any bearing on the championship. This Avas seconded by Mr. Bateman anu carried.

Otaki Seniors Withdraw, Having defaulted three times, the Otaki senior team Avas deemed to be out of the championship. Air. Kimmer considered that it avus Otaki’s duty to bring some of their juniors into the seniors to fulfil their obligation. He said that Otaki had failed to bring up their juniors and the union should look to Rahui, Avhich Avas really an Otaki club, to field a senior team with the assistance of players from the defaulting Otaki seniors. He had been given to understand that at least two players Avould not take the field for Otaki because of the management of that club.

Mr. Gillespie pointed out that some members of the Otaki team had been nominated to contest the trials to selec. the Maori team for Fiji, while some imd been chosen to represent ITorowhemm. He thought these players should ho given the opportunity to play, even though their club had withdrawn. ,Somu members pointed out that no transfers could be granted after the completion of the first round of the competition, and held that it would be unfair to allow players of the Otaki Club to take the held for a Kahui senior team.

iM r. Rimmer said that to allow transfers from clubs which were still in the competition would be unfair, but where a club had failed to meet its obligations those members who wished to play should be given the opportunity to do so. If Rahui did field a senior team for the third round the points they gained would count only for the Nash Cup, The position was that the committee had to manage football and it could not afford to have a bye in the championship, He maintained that everv players should be given the opportunity

to play football. The question of Rahni being invited to held a senior team was not discussed further. Saturday’s Games. On Saturday next the following games will be played, their venue and referees also being given : The third grade representatives will play the Levin District High School at Ihe Levin Domain at 1.30 p.m. The referee will be Mr. C. T. Wildsmith. General. . The Rahni Club was fined the usual amount of 2s (id for allowing a player to take the field in a wrongly-coloured jersey last Saturday, The Waimeha Club wrote asking if it would be necessary for them to obtain a transfer for a player from the Kukn-Manakau juniors, considering that the latter club had withdrawn. It was decided to reply that no transfers could be granted after the completion of the first round.

i letter from the Manawatu Union suggested Saturday, August 6th, as the day for the return match between ITorowhenua and Manawatu, at Palmerston North. —Accepted.
