PREVENTING AN ONION SHORTAGE.

IMPORTATION FROM AUSTRALIA SUGGESTED (By Telegraph— Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. A fully-attended meeting of the Onion Advisory Committee was held in Wellington last I hursday, stated the Minis ter of Agriculture, lion. W. Leo Martin, this evening. After the meeting the chairman, Mr, R. B. Tennent, announced the committee had unanimously recommended to the Government that a permit should be gianted lor the importation of a supply of Australian onions to arrive at the end of the current month, for distribution in No. 1 district, as laid down in the onion regulations. This decision was arrived at in view of the shortage of onions which otherwise would result iu the Auckland district.
