CAUSING CONCERN.

PALESTINE UNREST. WARSHIPS AND TROOPS HURRIEDLY DESPATCHED {By Telograph-rress Assn.-Copyright) LONDON, July 7. Government concern at the terrorism lit Palestine, where 33 persons have been killed, of whom 25 were Arabs, and nearly 150 injured in the past two days, is shown by the hurried despatch of two British battalions from Egypt and the iiversion of the cruiser Emerald by radio from her homeward course to Haifa, where H.M.S. Repulse will relieve her on July 8.

The Times says that the present wave of outrages stands out only in relief from many months of lawlessness. Each week ten to twelve Jews and Arabs have been murdered and 30 to 80 wounded. Most of the outrages have been committed against isolated Jewish communities by Arab terrorists by no means representing the whole of Arab feelings. Now the Jews seem to be arming some of the wilder youths and or: gamsing gangs for counter-terrorism.

The Jerusalem correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says precautionary arrests are being made on a large scale, including that of Dr. Waschitz, a local Zionist and revivalist leader. Police searched the offices of the Jewish Labour Federation. British police ha largely replaced Arab and Jewish constables, who can no longer bo relied on.
