FIRE IN NEW PLYMOUTH.
(Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) I NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. A fire destroyed hundreds of pounds worth of stock at the New Plymouth branch of J. R. McKenzie, Ltd., tonight. The fire damage was confined to the storerooms upstairs, hut practically the whole stock of the shop was saturated with water.
' Dense smoke was seen in King street just after seven and two engines turned out. Leads were run to the front of the building in Devon street and the rear in King strept, but it was some time before the outbreak was quelled. Details of the insurance issued by. Lloyd's were not available to-night.
