HARVEST FESTIVAL.

METHODIST SERVICES. The harvest festival services in connection with St. John’s Methodist Church were celebrated yesterday. The church had been specially decorated for the occasion with flowers and seasonal produce, Avhich made an attractive setting for the day’s activities.

At the morning service Eev. J. Dennis, who occupied the pulpit throughout the day, based his remarks on the “Progress of Harvest,” while his subject in the evening was “The Certainty and Uncertainty of Harvest.” The Service of Baptism was administered at the morning service, i There were large congregations at both services, a feature being the singing of well-known harvest hymns. At the morning service Mr. P. H. Baumber sang “Trees,” by Rasbach, while the choir rendered Simper’s anthem, “Make a Joyful Noise.” In the evening a tenor solo, “The Blind Ploughman,” was rendered by Mr. A. Mottershead, and the choir sang the anthem “Ye Shall Dwell in the Land,” by Stainer. - The celebrations jvill conclude in the Century Hall to-night, commencing at 7.45 p.m., when a short programme will be given and the sale of produce will take place.
