The party’s constitution provides for selection by the party’s supporters in each electorate and, with the object of giving each elector who is opposed to the present Government an opportunity of taking part in the selection, each committee has been advised that 2000 members should be enrolled in the electorate concerned before a choice is made. . To this end active organising is now being carried out, and the membership, said Mr. Kealy, -as rapidly increasing in ev,pry electorate in the division. It was felt by the party that, when every National candidate at the time of his selection was assured of the definite support of at least 2000 electors, it could be said with confidence that the selection had been made in the most democratic manner possible, and that the chosen candidate was one entitled to votes of those who desired a change of Government.
