HUTT PARK TROTS TO-MORROW.

tIRST MEETING OF SEASON, THE CARD IN REVIEW.

(By L.M.M.)

WELLINGTON, This Day.

What should prove one of the best spring meetings the Wellington Trotting Club’ has experienced will be field at Hutt Park course, Petone, to-morrow afternoon. This will be the first meeting in Wellington of the new season. The fields are easily the best all round secured for this meeting which augurs well for the popularity of the club with owners and trainers. The track is in excellent order for this time of the year and the little rain that we have been having down, this way has left the turf in splendid order for to-mor-row. Mr. W. Fere, the club’s energetic secretary, informed the writer this morning that given fine weather, the club expects to cater for a record crowd to-morrow. He stated that the dusty portion surrounding the main totalisator house on the lawn (near the stables) has been set down in concrete so wishes to assure Horowhenua patrons that the dust nuisance at the totalisator house has been eliminated.

Betting to-morrow will be operated on the win-and-place system.

Horses expected to run up to form in their respective engagements are as follows:

12.10, Nai Nai Handicap (unhoppled trotters), 3.39 class (1-f miles): Swordsman, Dark Hazard and Indolent.
