NORTH ISLAND FINALISTS
NAPIER AND PALMERSTON NORTH
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAWERA, This Day.
“The 300th Performance/ 5 presented by the Napier Repertory Players and “A Privy Council/ 5 by the Palmerston North Little Theatre Society, were the two plays selected by the Drama League adjudicator, Miss Elizabeth Loe, from the North Island from the elimination festival, which concluded at Hawera last night, to compete with the South Island finalist at Eotorua for the New Zealand championship in amateur dramatic art.
Eight other teams presented plays, which had won the respective area festivals. namely: Avon Players (Rotorua), Hawera Apollo Players (South Taranaki), Repertory Society (Wanganui), Stratford Player’s (Central Taranaki), Phoenix Drama Club (Wairarapa), Guild of Players (Auckland), Hamilton Playbox (Waikato), and All Saints 5 Players (Wellington).
