WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

MEETING AT IHAKARA. The monthly meeting of the Ihakara Women’s Institute was held recently, the President, Mrs. Brooks, occupying the chair. After the business of the meeting had been foneluded, a social afternoon followed. The programme consisted of many competition games. These were won as follows: Letter competition, Mrs. Hustler; best hat from sheet of newspaper and four pins, Miss C. Parsons; whistle competition, Miss Johnson; map competition, Mrs. Stewart (North Island), and Mrs. Malcolm (South Island). Mrs. E. JV Eolston was the winner of the points competition for the best coffee cake, with Mrs. Stewart second and Mrs. Hustler third. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Cottle, Cotter, Christie and Doyle.
