Mr. Jardine, who officiated at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, alleged that the Church of England kad inspired hostile United States forces to persuade American chanties to abandon their sponsorship of his lectures. He threatened to “blow off the lid and expose the real reasons" for King Edward’s abdication, leading to Disestablishment and Disendowment of the Church.
