Speaking at a luncheon given by the Commonwealth Government to Hon. Li. •Semple, Dr. Earle Page, acting Prime Minister, said within a comparatively few months flying boats would bring Sydney closer by air to Auckland than Canberra was to Sydney. Dr. Page said he would like to see closer collaboration between the Australian and New Zealand Governments in order to escape the traditional idea that the only place where Australian and New Zealand delegations might meet for full dress discussions was London.
Mr. Semple, acknowledging the we» .come, said the. New Zealand Government was ready to meet representatives of the Commonwealth to discuss trade difficulties. He emphasised that the artificial barriesr against a satisfactory trade between the two Doranions should be broken down.
BRISBANE TO ADELAIDE TM k-.. HOURS SYDNEY, July 15. The Sydney Sun says a daily express air service between Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide with Douglas air liners carrying 14 to 18 passengers will be inaugurated on September 1. The trip from Brisbane, 1550 miles to Adelaide via Sydney and Melbourne, wi bo completed in 10 hours.
