AUCKLAND, Last Night. “I came over to get a job,” said George David McPherson, aged 24, who admitted to Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court that he had stowed away on the Monterey from Sydney. Senior-Sergeant Flanagan said McPherson boarded the Monterey at Sydney on Friday and stowed away in the crew’s quarters. He was discovered the following day. A fine of £lO was imposed, in default one month’s imprisonment.
