LOVED THE LITTLE ONES.

FITTING MEMORIAL TO KING GEORGE. SUCCESS OF APPEAL ASSURED (By Telegraph—Fress Association.") AUCKLAND, Last Night. "No finer tribute could be paid to the memory of King George V than that by New Zealanders," stated the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. W. E Parry, speaking to-night of the national fund being raised for sunshine camps.

"King George loved the little ones irrespective of their station in life with a warmth of feeling equalle'd only by a mother's love. This homely trait was among his personal characteristics. He loved to see little tots at .play happily and in health. He. did more to encourage the success of any movement which provided for the comfort and contentment of children than did probably any of the world's great monarehs of our time.

"With due recognition of that fine I aspect of his late Majesty's work the Government decided that the memorial of the New Zealand nation should be sunshine camps. There is nothing more fitting, nothing more singularly grand, than to make this country's memorial come through the medium of' that a sunshine outing will give to our boys and girls." Mr. Parry said as the Ministerial head of the department sponsoring the memorial he had daily been delighted with the telegraphed reports sent him of the money coming in for the memorial plus camp sites. "Our people with almost united outlook see in the fund a double tribute being paid . to Kine George and to the children. All seem to be bent on subscribing to the fund — private citizens, business houses of all kinds, banks and companies. The success of it seems assured. I think the best comment I can at the moment make is 'Well done, New Zealand'."
