BROOK FAILS TO REACH JUBA NOT SIGHTED IN KENYA (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) Received Wednesday, 1 a.m. KHARTOUM, April 27, There has been no word of the British airman, H. L. Brook, who is attempting the London-Cape record, since ,he left for Juba (1000 miles above Khartoum) at 9.27 a.m. yesterday. He has not been sighted at Kisumu (Kenya) where he intended to make a brief call. SAFE ARRIVAL. LEAVING FOR KISUMU TO-DAY. (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) JUBA, April 27. Brook arrived at 7.15 a.m. local time. He was forced down by a storm last night 100 miles north The tail wheel was damaged in taking off. He hopes to leave for Kisumu at noon. ' AUSTRALIA TO ENGLAND. BROADBELT’S ATTEMPT ON RECORD. (Received This Day, 10.47 a.m.) DARWIN, This Day. Broadbelt left at 6.45 last night on the first stage of his attempt to lower Brook’s solo record from Australia -to England.
