REVIEW OF REGENT’S SERIAL. For the benefit of the children who are unable to see the film screened on account of the restrictions placed upon them, a little review of the second episode in the Regent Theatre’s serial, “The Phantom Rider,” which was shown on Friday and Saturday last, is given below. In. the previous chapter given last week Buck disappeared from sight when a dynamite explosion wrecked a building. Buck escaped death by rolling under a water trough a split second before the explosion. Spooky tells Buck a crooked deal is planned against Hidden Valley Ranch. At outlaw headquarters the chief, Delaney (Harry Woods), plots to drive out ranchers to gain control of land where a new railroad will buy the right-of-way* Buck visits Hidden Valley, meets Delaney with Mary Grayson, asks where her father is and leaves to find him. Two bandits, Gabe and Roscoe, seeking to take from Grayson a chart that locates his gold mine, kill him. Buck drives them away. The .sheriff finds Buck bending over Grayson and jails him. Delaney attempts to capture Hidden Valley and run the herd across the border. The stampeding cattle rush madly into town and wreck the jail. Buck is traped in his cell when the building burns.
