LONDON RAILWAY FACILITIES.
FIRST CONTRACT HAS BEEN PLACED. (British Official Wireless.) Received Wednesday, 7.5 p.m. RUGBY, March 2. The first contract to be placed in connection with the London Passenger Transport Board’s £14,500,000 scheme to improve railway facilities in northeast London has been placed. It provides for the boring of tunnels for the extension of the central London underground railway from Liverpool street to Mile End.
