FAVOURABLE BALANCE REVEALED. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) Received Wednesday, 8.15 pan. CANBERRA, Feb. 24. It is officially announced that Australia's favourable overseas trade balance for the calendar year 1936, was £24,540,476, this represents an improvement of £3,031,635. Exports gained by more than £12,000,000 in 1936 but imports rose sharply from £79,543,539 in 1935 to £89,066,595 in 1936.

An adverse balance with America was substantially reduced while the adverse trade balance with Italy was converted into a favourable one.
