5-4 VICTORY OVER MRS. FULLERTON-SMITH. _ IN AUSTRALIAN WOMEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP (By Telegraph-Press As'sn.--Copyright) Received Wednesday, 11.30 p.m. ADELAIDE, Sept. 2. Miss Oliver Kay won the women's golf championship of Australia defeating Mrs. FullertonSmith in the final to-day by 5 up and 4 to play. The weather was ideal. There was little between them, but Miss was the steadier. Mrs. Fulierton-Smith was not driving well, pulling and slicing, but she played wonderful recovery shots, hitting her woods on the fairway with great power. Apart from a few loose shots Miss Kay was steady all round. Her putting was deadly and she seemed always to have the upper hand. Although Miss Kay lost the first hole when she pulled her iron second, she won the second in par five. Mrs. Fullertou-Smith pulled her drive into the rough at the third but recovered wonderfully and halved in four. The next three holes were halved and Miss Kay vook the seventh, her opponent being bunkered. The match was squared at the next, Miss Kay taking live aftoi •! sliced drive. Mrs. Fullerton Smith smothered her drive at the ninth but played two great woods. She pitched short and Miss Kay bunkered with her third but exploded and sank a 25-foot putt for a win in five. Miss Kay was then one up and she was out in 40, Mrs. Fullerion-Smith taking 41. A snort second and a chip cost Mrs. Fulierton-Smith the next hole and the following two were halved. Mrs. Fullercon-Smith won the thirteenth, while Miss Kay took three putts at the fourteenth for a half. She won the fifteenth, Mrs. Fullcrton-Smith taking three putts. The next two holes were halved.

Mrs. FulJertou-Smith pulled her drive into the tiger country at the eighteenth find took six, while Miss Kay was down in live after three putts to stand three up at lunch.
