LEVIN DEFEAT TINAKORL

During last week-end a team of badminton enthusiasts from the Tinakon Ciub in Wellington journeyed to Levin and were the guests of the Levin club. On Saturday evening an interclub match was played and after a very interesting senes of games, the home side proved too strong for the visitors, winning the match by 21j games to 3. The occasion was a very enjoyable one for the members of both clubs and a great deal of benefit was obtained from the games played. REGENT v. KOPUTAROA. A number of the newer' players of the Regent and Koputaroa clubs took part in a match which was played at Levin on Tuesday evening, which resulted, after a series of closely-contested and most enjoyable games, in victory for the visitors by the margin of 13 games to 11. A dainty supper was served by the Regent ladies, while at a suitable interval the president of the Regent Club, Mr. H. G. Mackay, extended a welcome to the visitors and congratulated them upon the very great improvement in their standard of play, Mr. D. Kernohan suitably replying and extending thanks for the hospitality which had been extended to the Koputaroa representatives. With Koputaroa players mentioned lirst in each instance, details were: — Ladies’ Singles. Mrs J. Koperu lost to Miss M. Mac lean, 6—11; Miss Z. Koberstein beat Miss J. Forsyth, 11 —3; Mrs. B. M.
