SHIPPING MANAGER ’ S PROMOTION. (By Tclcgraph--Press Assn.-Copyright) NELSON, April 5. Mr William Rogers, general manager of the Anchor Shipping Company, has been promoted to be managing director of the company. He leaves on a holiday trip to England to-night, and intends to return in December. There, was a gathering of over 100 business men of the city and district this morning to farewell Mr Rogers and congratulate him on the completion of over sixty years of service for the company, and on his appointment as managing director. Warm tributes were paid by representative speakers to his efficiency and tactfulness in service to the business community. Mr A. B. Dyson, assistant manager, will succeed Mr Rogers, as general manager, of the company.
