SECOND MEETING OF A SERIES. The second of a series of sports gatherings was held on th e domain on Wednesday evening when there was a good gathering of the general public, and a fair muster of competitors. Levin was not so strongly represented as last week but, nevertheless, those who attended helped considerably to make the spert keen. All officials as usual vvorkd well and again the handicapping gave general satisfaction. Some of the finishes were very close, inches only separating a number of the competitors. The track was in good order, and the meeting •well conducted. Following are the results:— Half-mile Cycle: Batten, 70yds, 1; L. Coulter, (50yds, 2; Alilroy, 40yds, 3. Also started; Hughes 100, Blackett 20. Hughes led the field, making good use of his handicap, with Coulter next, and Batten following hot on his track. Blackett had only covered a short dis tance -when he pulled out owing to tire i trouble. In the race for the line Coulter, Hughes, and Batten fought a great race, the latter winning by inches only, Alilroy beating Hughes for third place. Time 1.11. One Alile Cycle: Judd, 100yds, 1; Hughes, 200yds, 2; Batten, 140yds, 3. Also started: Alorgan 180, Coulter 85 Shortly after the start Judd led Hughes, and then came Batten 50yds to the rear. Alorgan and Coulter were well together on the second lap. .In the last lap Judd and Hughes had a substantial break, and the former won by a length. Inches only separated Batten, Coulter and Alorgan. Time 2.30.

Two Milo Cycle: Blackett, 70yds, 1; Milroy, 90yds, 2; Coulter, 90yds, 3. Also started: Hughes 225, Butt 200, Batten 190. Judd took command after the first lap, but was replaced by Butt and Batten in the second. Blackett, Milroy, and Coulter were fifty yards back. On the fourth lap the held was well together, with Batten leading, Blackett next. Milroy and Coulter followed. In the race for homo Blackett came away to win comfortably. Time 5.15. Boys’ Half-mile Cycle: Murrell, 20 yds, 1; Evans, 10yds, 2. Also started: D. Batten 50, Morgan 40. The four riders were bunched after going 300 yards. Murrell went to the front, followed by Evans. In the race for the line Murrell won by half-a-wheel, Evans losing his position by trying to get up on the inside. Time 1.22. Boys’ One Mile Cycle: Evans, 70yds, ]; Murrell, 35yds, 2. Also started: D. Batten 120, and Morgan 110. All were together at the end of the first lap, but after this Murrell and Evans led. lln the race for the tape Evans won jjiicely by a length. Time 2.45. Boys’ Race: Iv. Webster 1, C. Atmore 2. Girls’ Kace: Ivy Rutter 1, S. Wilson O Girls, 10—12: P. Webster I, D. Flanagan 2. Boys, 10 —12: Peter Royal 1, C. Atmore 2. 100yds handicap: X. Gordon, I.lyds, J; T. Tulloeh, Ivds, 2; F. Heller, 13yds, 3. Also started: W. .MacLeod 9, Bell 11. This was a splendid race, the three being in a line at the finish. Time llsec.

j Y r oung Ladies’ Race. Aliss Tui Bevan (Byds) 1, Aliss AI. I’arrant (G yds) 2, Airs. Better (Gyds) 3. Also started: Airs. Alarm, Aliases Stilwell, Moxham, and Afeyer. Won easily. Tho distance was barely thirty yards and was covered in six seconds. 120yds Handicap: Tullock, 41yds, 1; Heifer, 14yds, 2; Gordon, 12yds, 3; W. AiacLeod, 12yds, 4. Only starters. This was a good race, the finish being exciting. Time 13sees. Young Ladies’ Race; D. Meyer, Gyds, 1; N. Better, 9yds, 2; AI. Aloxham, .14 yds, 3. Also started: Airs. Alann, Misses Stilwell and Fiegler, Won in good style. Time 12 4-sths. Girls’ Race: K. Baker 1, H. Swensson 2. A close finish. 220yds Handicap: Gordon, 21yds, 1; Tulloch, Gyds, 2; Heller, 24yds, 3; MacLeod, 18yds, 4. Only starters. Won nicely, while a splendid race resulted between second and third. Time 24sec Ladies’ Relay: Otaki: Alisses Bevan, Baines, Aleyer and Airs. Better, 1; Levin 2. This was an interesting contest, won by a narrow margin. Boys’ 440yds: A r . Bevan 1, W. Batten 2, K. Webster 3„
