Violent Duststorms in Australia

INTENSE HEAT EXPERIENCED. ssaij-Tidu.iSoioj, m - .SYDNEY, Dec. 12. Violent dust-storms, intense heat, and a cyclone were evils which visited the State yesterday. Cessnock and surrounding towns received a terrific battering, and fences and lines are down in all directions. Houses were unroofed and several people were injured by flying debris. Dust-storms forced an aeroplane carrying Christmas air mail for England to land at Bourkc, where it had to be tied down for the night. The metropolis and country towns sweltered, the highest temperature being 109 degrees Fahr. at Walgctt. Thousands of Sydneyites spent the night on the beaches. Intense heat was experienced in western Queensland, somes places registering 115 degrees.
