New Post Office for Mangaweka ?
TO MEET INCREASING BUSINESS.
The necessity for u new post office at Mangaweka has been impressed upon the Hon. A. Hamilton, Postmaster-Gen-eral, by the member for the district, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, Minister of Justice. Steps are being made by the authorities to investigate the present building. .' Last week an influential deputation of the town interviewed Mr Cobbe and the matter was discussed. It was pointed out by the speakers that the building besides being aged, diu not lend
itself to a speedy and convenient transaction of the large amount of business put through the office. Mr Cobbe said he recognised the application merited favourable consideration by the postal authorities; in his view the office did not provide the conveniences which, the settlers of the district needed and deserved. The Minister has communicated with his colleague urging that something be done to bring about the improved requirements necessary..
