CALEDONIAN TENNIS CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Caledonian Tennis Club was held in the school-room last ■evening there bein S a good attendance of members. ANNUAL REPORT. The secretary's report read as follows:—"The club had a very successful season as will be seen by the balance sheet. After having the old court top-dressed and purchasing a lawn mower the club finished up with a eredit balance of £6 Is, also shields were provided for the club handicap singles by one of the members, and suitably mounted in silver by the club. Mr. Sid Taylor was again the winner of the men's handicap and Miss D. Standen, the winner of the ladies. Quite a lot of new members were admitted to the club and we had a membership of approximately 400. Wo wish, to thank all members who helped to keep the grounds in order and otherwise look after the club property. Hedges have been planted and when they, have grown will improve the privacy of the 'courts." ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Office bearers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: —President, Dr. I. W. Eraser; vice-presidents, Matron Murray, Dr. L. ,T. Hunter, Messrs J. Challies, J. Smellie, W. Jenson, W. Davie, J. D. Brown, W. Port, and F. J. Ramsay; club captain, Mr. F. Fletcher; lion, secretary, Mr. J. Dunlop; hon. treasurer, Miss D. Dempsey; committee, Mrs. G. Cameron, Misses Ross and J. Gibson and Mr. A. Challies. GENERAL. Several new members were elected. They were: Misses J. Livingstone, E. Easton, D. Lumsden, M. Goodwin, O. Mexted, E. Julian, J. Mottershead, Z. Fletcher and M. Miles; Messrs A. Harvey and S. Lumsden. Wednesday, October 2nd, was fixed as the day for the club's official opening. OHAU CLUB, There was a good attendance of members at the annual general meeting of the Ohau Tennis Club on Wednesday. The President (Mr Clyde Saint) occupied the chair. The financial statement showed a credit of albout £ls, with assets of the Club amounting to £47. The following officers were elected for the approaching season: —'Patron, Mr H. Rowland; President, Mr Clyde Saint; vice-presidents, Messrs R. C. Bishop, J. D. Brown, 11. J. McLeavey, W. A. MoLoavey, H. J. Nicholas, R. Wehipeihana and H. J. McLeavey; club captain, Mrs 11. J. Mc/Loavey; hon. secretary, Mr J. Coulson; hon. treasurer, Mr W. G. Benning; hon. auditor, Mr H. J. McLeavey; committee, Messrs T. Cheeseman, J. Coulson, W. if). Ne;vs and iS. C. Saint. The date for the opening of the courts was fixed as Wednesday, September 25th.
