PERSONAL.
Mrs. W. M. Clark, of Levin, is judging the decorative classes at the spring show ;it Foxton to-day, and will act in a similar capacity at Palmerston North to-morrow. ( 'Though she had been in indifferent health for some weeks the death of Miss Jean McAllister came as a shock to all who knew her. Born in Dairy, •Ayrshire, Scotland', the deceased lady came to' New Zealand in 1911 consequent on the demise of her brother's wife. After residing in Huntervilh' for four years, the late Miss McAllister canie to Levin in 19i'5 and has lived here ever since. She was a devoted worker in the interests of her church and by a kind and cheerful disposition endeared herself to a wide circle of friends. She is survived by a niece, Miss M. McAllister and a nephew, Mr J. McAllister, who have received a wealth of sympathy in their loss. The funeral to'ok place on Tuesday, a, large number of mourners following the casket to the graveside in the Levin 'Cemetery. A service was conducted at the house Iby Mr J. M. Murdoch, who also officiated at the graveside. The ,pall bea.icrs were Messrs Miles, F. Howard, A. .]'. Sheargold, R. Itolston, S. Read, and C. W. Read. A beautiful collection of wreaths covered the casket, making a striking testimony of the esteem in which the late Miss McAllister was held.
