REDUCTIONS IN HOSPITAL CHARGES.
WORK OP LABOUR MAJORITY ON BOARD
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night.
Reductions in practically all fees for treatment at the Wellington Hospital were made by the Hospital Board tonight. The item of widest application is (he charge for in-patients which was brought down from 12s to 9s per day. Other'charges were scaled down by as much as 50 per cent. The new rates will come into operation on January 1, 1936, subject to the approval of the Minister of Health.
The reductions are virtually a reversion to the scale in force seven or eight years ago and are the result of representations by the Labour majority on the board.
