MISSING FOXTON RESIDENT.

Mystery still surrounds the disappearance of Mr. Daniel McFarlanc who left his home in Avenue Road, Foxton, on Wednesday, August 21st. Further inquiries go to support the evidence of a local drover that air. McFarlane was seen on the FoxtonBhannon road during Wednesday after noon and he is said to have called at the Shannon blacksmith’s shop later. Mrs. H. Hoskins, of Avenue Road, states that at 9 p.m. on-Saturday a man called at her house and wanted to know if she wanted to purchase any books. He kept his head down but she is certain that the man was Mr. McFarlane. When she told him she did not require any reading matter he made off with all haste up Avenue Road. Mr. McFarlane had previously called on her in this connection when travelling with books.
