Barrow-pushing a " Dangerous Sport"

ADVENTURES ON ENGLISH ROADS (By Telegraph-Press Assn.--Copyright) Received Monday, 9.1'0 p.m. LONDON, Sept. J). Barrow-pushing is apparently more dangerous in Britain than in Victoria or New South Wales. Joe Dawson, aged 75, has begun his third attempt to cover 210 miles to Blackpool for a wager of £SO. On his first attempt lie was mistaken for an escaped convict and detained, while on the second attempt he was averaging 40 miles daily when a car knocked him over a fence and wrecked the barrow.
