£3,000,000 Public Works Loan

INTERNAL ISSUE SUGGESTED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. As has already been indicated, the Budget, which is to be presented to the House of Representatives on Tuesday of next week by the Minister of Finance (Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates), is likely to outline a vigorous public works policy, the main object being the absorption of numbers of the unemployed into regular employment at standard rates o-f pay. It 39 suggested in the lobbies that the Goinrnment may finance its' public w<y*vs ■ policy by an internal loan, probably of £3,000,000, at 3 per cent. The term of the loan may be for from eight to ten years.
