IMPRESSIVE FIGURES.
Tlic Morris factory at Cowley covers an area of 82 acres, and finds employment for nearly 5000 people, whose weekly wage hill averages over £22,000. The foundry at Coventry covers 79,000 sq. ft., while the engines branch at Coventry and Courthouse Green machine shops possess a floor space of 31,200 sq. ft., a personnel of 2750, and a weekly pay-roll of £II,OOO. Over half-a-million engines have boon produced in the engines branch to date, totalling 7 J million rated horse-power, or over 17 million brake horse-power. In the making of Morris engines 15,000 tons of metal are handled yearly.
