Australian Tennis Players in Italy
HOPMAN BEATEN IN CHAMPIONSHIPS (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright), Received Friday, 11.4 p.m. ROME, April 18. In the Italian tennis championships Canepele, a young Italian, defeated Hopman (Australia), 6 — 4, 4—G, 6 —3, 3—6, G—3. The Australian Davis Cup players, who practiced for the first time to-day, will play at Monte Carlo on April 26 and 30 in doubles and mixe(l doubles only. Thence they will proceed direct to Eastbourne for their cup tie against New Zealand.
