NEW ZEALANDERS OUTED.

In the covered court tennis quarterfinals, Borotra defeated Glasser, 6—4, 4—6, 6 —4, and Prenn defeated Merlin, 6—o, 6—o. The latter has not fully recovered from a recent motor accident.

In#the doubles Martin Legeay and Lesueur defeated Stedman and Malf roy, 6 —4, 6—4. In the mixed doubles Lesuer and Mile. Barbier defeated Stedman and Miss Cunningham, 6 —3, 6 —3. De Borman and Mile. Adamson defeated Malfroy and Mile. Adamoff, 6—3, 4—6, 6—3.

Hastings Championships

HASTINGS, Last Night,

There has been glorious weather for the Hastings tennis championships, which have been in progress for three days.

The following finals were played this afternoon: —

Men's Singles.—N. R. C. Wilson (Hastings) beat R. D. Sharpe (Hastings), 6—l, 6—2. Women's Singles.—Mrs Milburn (Hawke's Bay) beat Miss M. Budd (Hastings), 6—3, 3—6, 6—o.

Men's Doubles.—N. R. C. Wilson (Hastings) and E. F. Page (Wellington) beat D. Kitchie and J. D. Ormonci (Waipukurau), 6—3, 3—-<J, 6—3. Women's Doubles. —Mesdames Cotterill (Hastings and Milburn (Hawke's Bay) beat Misses Glenny (Hastings) and Hickes (Napier), 6 —5. 6 —l.

The Southland Tennis Association's Christmas tournament was concluded to-day, the remaining championship finals, resulting —■ Wdmen's Singles.—Miss D. Baikie <(North Otago) defeated Miss M. Reid (Invercargill), J} —6,. 6—4.

Men's Doubles.—G. Pearce and J. Rawlinson (Dunedin) defeated L. Cockerill and R. McCalluni (Invercargill), 7—5, 9—ll, 6—2, B—6.
