Victoria Swept by Violent Storms
SERIOUS GENERAL FLOODS EXPECTED (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.J Received Saturday, 1.30 a.m. MELBOURNE, Nov. 30. With the exception of the Wimmera and Mallee areas, the whole of Victoria for the past 24 hours has been swept by most violent-: storms and serious general floods are expected. XJrops have been levelled, some of the main roads are impassable, railway traffic has been disorganised by washaways and landslides, and the metropolitan area deluged. Shipping in Port Phillip bay and along the coast experienced the worst buffeting for years. The Colonial Sugar Refining Company's freighter Finga went aground off Melbourne and it is feared she will become a total loss.
