The Hawke 'Cup elimination match between Wairarapa and Manawatu was commenced this mornirig in fine weather and on a good wicket. Manawatu batted first and after having lost seven wickets for 96 at the lunch adjournment were all out for 189—Murehison IS, Ongley 24, Penman 34, Norris 81. Montgomery took five wickets for 65.

At stumps Wairarapa had six wickets down for 171—Perry 35, Massey not out 65, Fortune 16, Donaldson not out IB'.

WAIRARAPA ALL OUT FOR 243
