Fire at Westfield Freezing Works
GOOD SAVE EFFECTED BY BRIGADES (By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, Last Night. Damage estimated at about £IOOO was caused to the building, plant and stock at the works of the Westfield Freezing Company by fire this morning. A good save was effected by the Ellers* lie, Mount Wellington and Onehunga Fire Brigades, assisted by the staff brigade, the fire being confined, to one room on the top floor of the mdih block *f the buildings. Fireproof doors prevented the flames from spreading to other parts of the building, and a h though the heavy doors were blistered by the heat, little water reached the lower floors. The stock is insured,with Lloyd ?s and the building with various local companies.
