Gaisford (New Zealand) defeated Miss . Joan Hammond, 1 up; Mrs Robinson. defeated Miss McLeish, 4 and- 3; Miss Oliver Kay (New Zealand} defeated Miss Lascellcs, 2 and 1; and Mrs. Russell defeated Mrs Tregloan, 2 and I. Miss Gaisford swung her shots away with delightful accuracy, and, was 2 up at the turn. She outplayed Miss. Hammond, the New r South Wales champion, to the greens, but the issue was in doubt until the last hole, jvheu Miss Hammond fluffed two shots lilce the merest novice and Miss Gaisford snatched victory.

Aliss Kay was also pressed by the Victorian, Aliss Lascelles, only one hole being won on the outward trip, the remainder being halved. Aliss Kay went out in 40, and Aliss Lascelles in 4JL. The Tahoraite Handicap, which is confined to those who fail to qualify for the championship, was won by ,Mvs. Don Fraser (Dannevirke), Who beat Airs. Speechley (Palmerston North), 3 and 2. For the first half Airs. Colegrove dominated the game, keeping the lead to be 1 up at the turn. Both players were driving well, but failed on the greens, which ware very fast, their cards going out both reading 43. The tenth was won by Aliss Garner and the next two were halved. It was now Miss Garner’s turn, and she carried off the honours at the thirteenth and fourteenth, halving the next two and winning the seventh to annex the championship, after a very close game.
