YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB.

MEETING OF MEMBERS. There .was a good atendance of members at a meeting of the recently formed Levin Young Farmers 7 Club held in the Bandroom last evening. The Chairman ('Mr B. Blenkhorn) presided, and there were present a number otf the honorary directors. IThe 'Chairman welcomed the following new members; —'Messrs G. Blenkhorn, C. Adikin, K. Davis, P. Bartholomew and A. Fryer. It was decided that Mr J. Casey be honorary auditor to the Club, and Mr Galpin, of the Department of. Agriculture, was added to the list of directors. Entries tfor the potato crop competition, which the Club are holding, number eleven. One hundred-weight of Government certified mother seed will be sown by each competitor, who will be expected to keep a record of the method of cultivation, the crop to bo judged by- the Department of Agriculture. Points will be awarded on cultivation and management, yield per Acre, wad the quality of the crop. The seed is expected to come to hand during the course of the next day or so. 'The members resolved to make arTangeanents for a demonstration on the correct method of throwing a horse at an early date. Following on this, f eld days will be arranged at regular intervals. A suggestion that the subject for the first field day could be on the different types of pastures was considered a good one. It was decided to Invite all interested to .demonstrations and field days arranged. x The members will hold a meeting on the first Thursday in each month. After the general business has been dealt with a short talk on subjects of general interest will be arranged. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the directors for being present and giving advice and making suggestions.
