PERSONAL.

Miss R. Murdoch, of the teaching 1 staff of the Otaki Health Camp, is at present spending a short holiday in Levin. At the Trinity College, Theory of Music examination, conducted in Levin last June, Miss Marjorie Pickering, pupil of Mrs E. Coleman, was successful in gaining the Intermediate Division with 77 marks.

'The death of Captain Collin Fraueia Post, formerly marine superintendent of the Union Company, Wellington, master of Government vessels, and for 10 years a member of the Wellington Harbour Board, occurred at his residence, in Wellington, last evening. Ha was in his 76th year.

The death occurred at Mastertbn on Thursday of Mrs Ealph, wife of Mr S. H. Ealph, who has been connected with the W.F.C.A. for upwards of thirty years. The deceased, who was 62 years of age, was greatly respected and in war-time did splendid work. Besides her husband, the late Mrs Ealph leaves two sons and a daughter and several grandchildren. Mrs C. Andricksen, of Levin, is a niece, and Mr W. Ealph, of Otaki a nephew.

Mr B. Grant, stock inspector of the Agriculture Department, Palmerston North, who is well-known among farmers in the Levin district, has been transferred on promotion to the position of district superintendent at Christchurch. He was met by the staff of the Palmerston North district office of the Agriculture Department yesterday and presented with an inscribed silver watch, as a token of esteem. The presentation was made by Mr W, J. McCulloch, fields superintendent, who congratulated Mr Grant on his promotion and expressed the regret of the Palmerston North branch at his departure. Mr Grant leaves for the South to-day.
