Injured Youth's Claim Against Van Driver
WELLINGTON, Last Night,
A decision for plaintiff, with £250 genera] damages and special damages as agreed upon between the parties, was given by a jury in the Supremo Court to-day in a case in which Leslie Churchill, of Kaiwarra, a minor, employed at the time by the Evening Post, claimed against Thomas Johnson, of Johnsonville, for driving his van negligently in the Evening Post ysrrl and right-of-way and injuring plaint'ff. The jurors and counsel paid a visit this afternoon to the scene of ♦h* accident and when the jury returned its ver hit it added a rider to the effect that ihe Court should communirjite with the Evening Post pi*oprietor.s ar.d inform them'that the jury considered the right-of-way and yard cangerous and that they should be remedied. The ca.-e was heard before the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers).
