SCENIC RESERVE DESTROYED BY FIRE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, This Bay. A fire at the famous Pelorus Bridge scenic reserve, midway between Bi?nheim and Nelson, yesterday afternoon, destroyed about four acres of bush. Passers-by and men from Bryant’s mill in Tinline Valley, and children from the adjacent school, worked for hours to save the Eeserve, but it- was midnight before the advance of tho flames was stayed. At one time the school and hall were threatened.
