Interchange of Journalists With U.S.A.
SUGGESTION TO IMPROVE MUTUAL RELATIONS
CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The hope that an interchange of journalists between the United States and New Zealand could be arranged, with the object of improving mutual relations and inducing a greater sympathy between the . English-speaking countries, was expressed to-day by Dr. Walter Williams, of Missouri, president of the World’s Press Congress, at a luncheon given in his honour by Mr Robert Bell, of Christchurch. At the luncheon were, the managers and editors of the city newspapers and representatives of advertising firms. Dr. Williams was also entertained by the Rector of Canterbury College with the staff and members of the College Council, and by members of the Christchurch Journalists' Union.
