Dunedin’s New Post Office
THREE YEARS’ JOB
WELLINGTON, Last Night
The construction of the Dunedin Post Office is to be proceeded with without delay, according to an official statement to-night. Hon. A. Hamilton and Hon. J. Kitchener have been in consultation with the heads of their dei>artments and tenders will be called within one month. The work will begin almost immediately as the contractors have worked out all details. The work is to be finished in three years from the date of commencement, the foundation having already been constructed by the Public Works Department. The building will cover a whole city block, approximately 1-42 by 150 feet. The design is distinctly modern with no cornices or projections except on the Princess street frontage, where a large rennaisance is a feature, 84 feet wide extending through several storeys, and marks the main entrance front.
