JUST A LOCAL STRIKE.

WELLINGTON UNEMPLOYED NOT AFFILIATED WITH NATIONAL UNION. \ (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. In a statement to-day, Messrs Vella and MaeLaughlin make it definite that the relief workers’ strike in Wellington is not national in character. They state, “Many relief workers in Wellington are approaching National Union officers, desiring to know if the strike which has been declared in Wellington is national in character. Would these men please note that this is not the ease. The dispute is purely local, as Wellington has not yet been afforded an opportunity to affiliate with the National Union, and therefore any acttion here cannot be termed national.”
