They saw a farcical contest last 2i minutes, for which each fighter received £SOOO, Both men were severely cautioned for clinching. Doyle, after shaking (Petersen, threw \all caution to £h© winds, and dealt him many foul blows, whereupon the referee, who had already shown great leniency, disqualified Doyle.
