TJie first monthly meeting of the new financial year of the Royal N.Z. Society for the Health of Women and Children (Levin "branch) was held on Monday, July 3rd. Mrs Park (President) was in the chair, and there were also present, Mesdames Sutton, Stannard, Inder, Keedwell, Percy, Blenkhorn, O ’Connor, Smaill, Smith, Mackenzie and Bartholomew (hon. sec.) Apologies 'were received from Mesdames Goldsmith, Todd, Pirani, Bevan, Miller, Foss and Gorringe. Votes of thanks were passed to D'r. Tweed for speaking at the annual meeting, to Br. and Mrs Thompson for entertaining 13r. and Mrs Tweed, to Mr G. D. Hamilton for assistance with the books, and to Mr Rimmer for free use of crockery for the annual meeting. The Nurse’s report was as follows:—■ LEVIN. Visits to homes 60 Adults to rooms 90 Babies to rooms 76 Older children 13 179 SHANNON. Visits to Shannon 5 Visits to homes 22 Adults to room 30 Babies to room 28 Older children 1 59 OHAU. Visits to Ohau 2 Visits to homes 13 LEVIN, SHANNON & OHAU. Visits to homes 97 Adults to rooms 120 Babies to rooms 104 Older children 14 Total i. 238 New cases 9 (7 breast fed,.l breast and artificial, 1 artificial). Advised over telephone 18.
