SHEEP PRICES FIRM. IMPROVING DEMAND FOR DAIRY COWS. There was a fairly good yarding of sheep at Levin. sale yesterday, but the cattle and pig entries were not quite as many as, usual. Prices were . firm in the sheep section. Pat 'lamba sold up to 16s. Pigs were slow selling at prices on a par with late rates. In the cattle pens there was a firm enquiry for springing dairy cows aand heifers showing quarty, but the yarding was not outstanding. Prices realised were as follows: — ' Sheep: Pat lambs, 13s, 15s 4d, 16s; icwes, 9s, 12s 8d; ronvard hoggets 9s 4d. Cattle: Pat cows, 20s. 33s 6d, ,£2; Is, £2 6s; forward do. 20s, 22 s, ,;24.5, 25s 6d, 265, 28s; heifers, r.w.b., 30s; dairy cows, at drop £2 2s 6d, £4 10s; spring: ir.g heifer £4 7s 6d.
