THEFT OF SILVER.

A SECOND IARB.EST. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) WANGANUI, Tuesday. Joseph Hyman, iof Auckland, surrendered to the police this morning and was subsequently charged with the theft of £Bl3 in silver, the property of William Toomey. He was remanded till July 3rd, bail being allowed of £SOO in two sureties of £250, or one of £SOO. The driver, Penney, of the taxi from which the silver disappeared, in his statement Jto the police, implicated Hyman and another man in the theft. Penney is also under arrest for the same charge.
