Mr. J. Entwisle,'of Weraroa, whose leg was amputated at the Levin Private Hospital a fortnight ago, con-, 'tinues to make good progress and is now able to sit up in a wheeled chair. He expects to leave the hospital at the end of next week. His rapid recovery, is regarded as a remarkable one in view of the fact that l he is in his 77th year. A London cable says that Mr'Charles David Jones Bryant has been elected President of the London Sketch Club. Mr Bryant, w r ho is fifty, was born in Sydney and when a clerk in the Bank of New South Wales, studied art under Lister Lister, President of the Eoyal Art iSociety of New South Wales. He went to England in 1908 and exhibited at the Royal Academy and Paris Salon. Mr Bryant was one of the official artists attached to the Australian Army on the West Front. His work chiefly deals with marue subjects.
